W1 – Be your own Advocate

  • An overview of the Family Justice System at the initial stages of the court proceedings and separation, how to initiate and respond to applications, deal with conferences. Navigate the best pathways to resolve matters in dispute out of the court and when and how to do things according to the prescribed rules. This workshop covers the following:

  • 10:00 am to 12:30pm – Family Justice System & the Family Court processes / Out-of-court Resolution / Self-representation / dealing with lawyers / High Parental conflict impact / Child’s perspective
  • 01:00 pm to 02:15pm – Care of Children / Guardianship Disputes/ Child Care Arrangements / Enforcements & Breaches / Specialists reports / initiating and responding to applications.
  • 02:30pm to 03:30pm – Family Violence / Protection orders / Police Safety orders / Property /Tenancy /Furniture orders – initiating and responding to applications.
    • Duration: Up to 6 hours – 10am to 4pm
    • Registration fee: FREE – Donation
    • Attendees: Suitable for Self-Litigants or Lawyer-represented litigants
