Community Engagement
FDSS always looking for volunteers with lived experience, positive energy, flexibility, great people skills, and an enthusiasm for life-long learning.
Our volunteers are just ordinary community members with lived experience who are passionate about our mission in supporting families and children who are going through the Family separation process and the Family Court.
Our service volunteers are usually supervised and receive guidance and help from our management. Please complete the online form, If you feel that you are able to contribute and help in other ways.
Requirements
- Must be 18+ years old
- Preferably with previous Family Separation lived experience; or
- Social work or mediation experience
- Great people skills, tolerance and positive energy
- Must have a smartphone /tablet /PC /Laptop with webcam & mic
- Must have reliable broadband and telephone network
- The majority of the Volunteers work is conducted remotely - but might vary depending on the position.

- VPS - Virtual Peer Support Groups Facilitator (remotely)
- In-Court support person (in-person)
- McKenzie Friend / Litigation Guardian (in-person)
- Admin & Marketing Support (remotely)
- Counselor or Psychotherapist (remotely or in-person)
- Psychologist (remotely or in-person)
- Workshop Presenter (remotely)
- Community Coach (remotely)

Our service volunteers provide both reassurance and guidance, so that our community members have the very best support while dealing with their Family Separation.
Our volunteers give their time to empower people who may feel lost and alone, helping them to understand how to deal with issues associated with family separation and the court process and guide them through the entire process from a community perspective.
